Description:

Interlibrary loan staff sometimes get requests for materials that are obscure or hard to find. This class emphasizes searching techniques, archival collections, scientific information, the “deep web,” government information and hard-to-find newspapers and periodicals.

This live online class uses practical resource sharing scenarios to teach a variety of search tools for finding elusive material requested by interlibrary loan patrons. Frequent citation problems will be addressed, including effective searching and citation tracing for materials and strategies for working with other libraries to make arrangements to get information outside the traditional ILL transaction.
